The Rev Joan Newton O'Gorman has served churches in Vermont since 1985. She is a graduate of University of Maine with a double major in Psychology and Religion. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Bangor Theological Seminary in 1985. Before entering parish ministry, Joan was Executive Director of Maine Adoption Placement Services in Houlton Maine; taught language arts for third graders, hosted a television cooking show in Maine, and drove a taxi-cab in New York City. Joan and her husband are the parents of four adult children and the proud grandparents of their first grandson. Joan enjoys kayaking, hiking and reading when she is not at church.
